Love, love this kayak! Sold my Caster 12.5 to look for another model that was better suited for touring with a group of people. Was looking for a nice light boat with a skeg to help with tracking in the heavy tidal currents that we usually paddle, but didn't want to pay $1,000. I was skeptical when I found this kayak, but am so delighted after taking it out a few times.

The bottom is designed in such a way that it tracks wonderfully and I can finally keep up with the crowd without fighting for it. I can finally have that relaxed paddle I have been hoping for. The boat is very sturdy and the seat is comfortable. Love the deck in the back which is big enough to take the dog or a large cooler. Of the Perception Montour 11, Caster 12.5 and this Pescador 12, this one is by far my favorite for day touring!

Purchased this yak to use with the Perception Montour 11 we already had. This yak was supposed to be my husbands and we often traded rides for variety. We used them on a small, fast moving river and also in the bays and inlets on the Atlantic. It is very stable, comfortable and tracks well. We often go with a group of 6 -10 and when I was in this yak, I found that I had to really work hard to keep up with the rest of the crowd (who are mostly older and less active than my husband and I are). It handles surf well and is easy to maneuver. I found this yak much harder to carry and load on my own than the Montour is. The bottom line? My husband and I both claim the Montour 11 as our favorite for the recreational touring so we have sold this yak and are can look for another like the Montour 11.

My husband and I have used this yak for it seems like 5 years or so and absolutely love it. We bought a Perception Caster 12.5 to go with it. We used them on a small, fast moving river and also in the bays and inlets on the Atlantic. The skeg makes this kayak the perfect recreational boat. The difference is night and day when the skeg is down and you are paddling in a strong current. The yak is very stable, comfortable and as fast as any in the group that we paddle with. We would recommend a skirt if you are going out in the surf since it will take on a good bit of water if you have waves crashing over the hull! Adding a drain plug is imperative for this and for cleaning up at the end of the day. I found this kayak very easy to carry and load on my own. The bottom line? My husband and I both claim the Montour 11 as our favorite for recreational touring so we have sold the Caster 12.5 and are looking for another like the Montour 11.
