At 17'x20" the Wave Piercer is Olympic spec legal, a very fast distance racing or aerobic training kayak with a cruising speed very close to an olympic racer on the flats, but much better speed and handling in rough water. This boat is great in the shallows, body steers like a wildwater k-1. The flaired bow helps knock down splash for such a low profile boat. While an overstern rudder is an option I have never needed one. I have paddled Mr. Bushnell's kayaks for 18 years, his quality of workmanship is legendary.
