Been kayaking about 7 years…

Been kayaking about 7 years and worked my way up slowly from an Aruba 10 to a Dagger Stratos 14.5 L. Also had a Perception Conduit and Wilderness Systems Tsunami. Was looking for lighter, smaller boat for playing in the waves and swells on my local lake that I could just throw in my truck before work in the morning or for long lunch paddles. Found a good deal on the Venture Flex. Have had it for a month or so, and it is really a great little boat. Fits like a glove at the knees with plenty of leg space (I am 5' 11" and 200 lbs). Turns with ease and paddles straight. What I have found really great about this boat is how well it surfs the boat wakes and wind swell on the lake. Not sure it is ocean worthy - but great on a lake. Just a fun, easy to use kayak, that turns great, can be easily transported with enough performance (rocker and drop skeg) features to keep things interesting. Surprised I do not see more of these around since they are reasonably priced too.

The Flex is an excellent day…

The Flex is an excellent day or overnight paddling boat. It's greatest attributes are its great handling and responsiveness along with great stablitly. Along with this is it surprisingly fast for such a short boat. It comes with a ratcheted seat and knee braces which make it very comfortable for either casual paddling or for some more focused traveling. Its skeg and hull design make it track well while also being very responsive and nimble. It has a very functional and useful day hatch that fits under the deck chords and keeps gear close at hand and dry. Its is fairly light weight for what it is and so it is fairly easy for one person to transport or roof top.

All and all its a good solid entry level or intermediate kayak
