I have used these foam blocks for 15+ years, across many different types of canoes and kayaks. They have never failed me - the foam blocks provide a forgiving base for most any paddle craft, and straps hold them securely. But ultimately, the reliability of these foam blocks falls to the operator - if you are not handy with rigging ropes and webbing, don't use them.
