11'6" Breeze Wind SUP Description

Paddle boarding is great on calm days, but when the wind picks up most people put the paddle down. Not so with the 11’6 BREEZE WIND SUP, designed to keep you out on the water on windy days with features that convert your paddleboard to a windsurfer. Featuring a mast track and removable daggerboard catridge the 11’6 BREEZE WIND SUP can be quickly and easily converted between activities. Featuring a mastfoot track for attaching a windsurf rig as well as a retractable daggerboard, the 11’6’’ WIND is a highly versatile and adaptable SUP/windsurfer for both windy and calm conditions. Its substantial volume and width offer excellent lateral stability without compromising performance. Volume is evenly spread throughout the board and it’s finely balanced rocker and longboardstyle outline make it easy to handle in flatwater conditions without reducing agility in the surf zone.

I started stand up paddle…

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 7/9/2016
I started stand up paddle boarding when I was 58 years old.For a couple of years I SUP'd with a friend who was kind enough to let me use some of his boards, some short and less buoyant, some longer and rode higher in the water. WOW! What a wonderful experience on the water. Before beginning my third year paddling and during our Pennsylvania winter I started shopping for used paddle boards. I found a BIC ACE-TEC 11'6 Performer Wind Sup. The ice on the lake did not allow me to do a test drive of this board. I liked everything about it that I saw and went ahead and bought it. To say that this board is absolutely perfect for me is an understatement! The maneuverability, buoyancy, and stability is perfect. Paddling several miles on the local lake in all kinds of conditions from March to November is Zen-like. I am 62 years old and just started to learn wind surfing on this board. Fantastic. Pros Very stable, buoyant, and maneuverable. Great for paddling on all kinds of conditions on our local lake. Can ride the wake wave energies created by the boaters very nicely. Match your paddling with the wake swell and enjoy! Cons The fact that I cannot use this board here in Pennsylvania in December, January, and February. It doesn't do well on the ice. Usage Paddling several miles at a time. Allowing myself a full body workout when paddling. Touring in and out of the many alcoves and tributaries on our lake to simply explore. The ability to drift into an area absolutely noiseless and observe nature's many wonders is priceless. Pure ZEN! I also just started learning wind surfing on my BIC Wind. Wonderful! Future plans are to try ocean surfing with this board. Long board style. Did surf when I was younger on a 7"6"board.

i have the 11X6 and can not be more pleased! it has replaced all my paddle surf boards. it takes the drop like a short board and does not perl. i have paddlesurfed overhead and a half waves that were blown out, and it takes them like a champ. the same hull design gives it excellent windsurfing characteristics. i had i planing today in clearing winds after a storm. it also glides very nicely in light winds. the 6.o sail is perfect for all conditions. i am a 240 pound guy. if i were lighter i would definitely have gone with the 10X6. as everyone i have talked to says the 10X6 is even faster under sail. and more maneuverable in the waves. Pros the speed in all conditions and stability with the width. i surf a place with wind swells that are in a different direction from the ground swells, and i used to get blind sided by chop. but is no problem on this board. Cons i had to make a hole in the adapter for the sup configuration insert as there was no way to carry the board. but it works fine now. Usage paddle surfing and wind surfing.

I bought this board for the best of both worlds - windsurfing and sup'ing. Had it on the gulf coast and was able to use it for both intentions. It sails great!! Kind of like an older long windsurf board. As for SUP, the board is VERY stable and can catch small to medium waves with ease if you wish to surf it in. I plan do do some flatwater river paddling with over the summer. Pros Great all around durable board. I will definitely keep this board for recreational sup'ing and surfing as well as light air windsurfing. Cons It is heavy and I plan to make a beach dolly for transporting while at the beach. It is rather slow. It is a great workout but you won't be paddling the miles too fast on this thing. Usage Windsurf, recreational beach sup, small wave surfing, flat rivers

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 3/28/2014
First ever board. I'm 5-8", 200lbs, built like a fullback, balance not my strong suit. I've been working with my Endo board and longboard skateboard which has helped a lot. The 11-6 Wind has been perfect for me. I've taken a windsurf lesson from Britt in North Beach Windsurfing, so I knew I'd want to get something with a mast track and daggerboard. The board glides nicely in flat water and does ok when it gets bumpy/windy. I've had it in small surf, kneeling cause I'm not good enough yet to stand, and she behaved predictably and was a ton of fun. The more you SUP, the better you'll get. It is very durable, have been practicing pivot turns, walking board a bit, just trying to get better. Once I get the Windsup rig, a new adventure will start. I'm having a blast with this board. Pros Stability, flat water glide and tracking, mast track and daggerboard, although big....handles surf very well. I'm a newbie, since Feb but, my confidence has shot way up! I'm totally hooked on this. Nice construction quality, no doubt..durable. Cons If you're not planning on windsurfing, you can save some weight by going the non-wind models. The daggerboard assembly adds lbs and she can get a bit heavy to carry to water. Usage Mostly flat water exercise/touring at our local lake in Dade City, FL. Hoping to keep improving to ride small surf. It's a blast!

Great teaching board. Pros First time paddlers have fun on this board. So stable that I was doing head stands on mine last summer! Cons That I only have one! Usage I introduce people to windsurfing on this board. They excel faster and aren't intimidated by the equiptment. I also fish from this board. That is a real blast!
