Escape 100X

I have been really happy with this kayak. I've had it for about 3 months now and have been in calm and swift rivers and a small lake in Michigan. At first it was noticeable that I was making balance corrections to stay perfectly flat. But the boat is actually quite maneuverable and I actually feel very safe with a significant amount of leaning. Glides through the water pretty swiftly and it tracks okay, but not flawlessly. It has a very comfortable seat, the knee pads are really nice, and the bungee storage out front came in handy on a long trip. I was very excited about the storage in this boat. The stern bulkhead has a nice flip top cover and an internal bag to keep your items out of the bottom of the boat. But this doesn't keep all water out, so whatever you put in here better be in a drybag. The cupholder and 4" day hatch have both come apart on me and let my stuff fall to the bottom of the boat during a particularly difficult section when I took on a lot of water. I just don't put anything in those anymore that I care greatly about.

Not an expert by any means, but do usually get out 6-8 times a year. Bought the escape for the storage features. Flipped twice putting in from handicap accessible launch. The v hull is not very forgiving. The kayak is really tippy and never felt comfortable especially going over logs. We let friends and kids borrow our kayaks a lot. So we returned the kayak because it was not safe for novices,

This is an excellent kayak and great quality!! It has features, like the removable day bag and knee pads, that other kayaks don't always seem to have. My family uses this kayak alongside the Pelican Unison136t tandem kayak, which it matches perfectly!

Although I've paddled a lot I've never bought my own kayak, and after doing some research I came upon a deal on an Espirit100x. It's a great kayak and I use it for all around use, mostly rivers and Lake Erie. Love the pole attachments in the rear hatch and I actually have 2 cupholders in mine! one in the normal position and one in the middle of my legs in the cockpit. Only downside is the holders on stern and bow are made of cheap rope and break easily. Other than that great overall kayak for the money!!

My first ever kayak. Low price great all around beginner boat. Beat it up in some rivers and it keeps on going. Did my first ever kayak race in it too, before stepping up to a sea kayak. Still take off down the river in it all the time.

Love the flip top storage hatch, the cockpit dash and drink holder are great ideas. And has a super comfy adjustable seat
