Looks beautiful. Great storage options, but less stable that most kayaks. The v-hull on the Escape 100x is not for beginners.

I have been really happy with this kayak. I've had it for about 3 months now and have been in calm and swift rivers and a small lake in Michigan. At first it was noticeable that I was making balance corrections to stay perfectly flat. But the boat is actually quite maneuverable and I actually feel very safe with a significant amount of leaning. Glides through the water pretty swiftly and it tracks okay, but not flawlessly. It has a very comfortable seat, the knee pads are really nice, and the bungee storage out front came in handy on a long trip. I was very excited about the storage in this boat. The stern bulkhead has a nice flip top cover and an internal bag to keep your items out of the bottom of the boat. But this doesn't keep all water out, so whatever you put in here better be in a drybag. The cupholder and 4" day hatch have both come apart on me and let my stuff fall to the bottom of the boat during a particularly difficult section when I took on a lot of water. I just don't put anything in those anymore that I care greatly about.

Of course a V hull is not as stable as a flat bottom. It is totally manageable and not unduly unstable. It's beautiful, has great features, lightweight and durable. Mine is in its 3rd year. It looks new on top and minimal scratches on the bottom.

Not an expert by any means, but do usually get out 6-8 times a year. Bought the escape for the storage features. Flipped twice putting in from handicap accessible launch. The v hull is not very forgiving. The kayak is really tippy and never felt comfortable especially going over logs. We let friends and kids borrow our kayaks a lot. So we returned the kayak because it was not safe for novices,

Perfect for a small kayak. Stable and easygoing. Low pounds for a women to carry. I enjoyed it! Had it since 5 years, carryed on my little Honda Fit until Florida, very easy!

This is an excellent kayak and great quality!! It has features, like the removable day bag and knee pads, that other kayaks don't always seem to have. My family uses this kayak alongside the Pelican Unison136t tandem kayak, which it matches perfectly!

We love our pelican kayaks and get alot of compliments on them! :-)

I purchased the Pelican escape 100x for my wife. I have a Future Beach explorer 12.4. The main reason I bought the Pelican was because she wanted a yellow kayak. I assumed it would be fine.It had some nice features and cost twice as much as my kayak.I was wrong! We tested it in our in ground pool and I flipped over twice, both times I was already seated and ready to go, I found the v hull to be very unstable. My son tried it with the same result, my grandson, who weighs 120 lbs, was able to keep it upright but it was quite unstable. It will go back to the store tomorrow.

Although I've paddled a lot I've never bought my own kayak, and after doing some research I came upon a deal on an Espirit100x. It's a great kayak and I use it for all around use, mostly rivers and Lake Erie. Love the pole attachments in the rear hatch and I actually have 2 cupholders in mine! one in the normal position and one in the middle of my legs in the cockpit. Only downside is the holders on stern and bow are made of cheap rope and break easily. Other than that great overall kayak for the money!!

This is my 2nd kayak, I have had it 2 years and it is my go to kayak. I have used it almost every weekend throughout spring through fall. I use it on lakes and rivers in Iowa and Illinois, it track well has dry storage and the all important drink holder, overall an excellent kayak.

One of the carrying handles fell off while transporting the kayak on the roof of my car. Pelican replaced it free of charge, excellent customer service.

My first ever kayak. Low price great all around beginner boat. Beat it up in some rivers and it keeps on going. Did my first ever kayak race in it too, before stepping up to a sea kayak. Still take off down the river in it all the time.

Love the flip top storage hatch, the cockpit dash and drink holder are great ideas. And has a super comfy adjustable seat
