We purchased two of these…

We purchased two of these boards. We have used them twice on a local lake. I tied them in the back of my truck with a fabric strap and drove 20 minutes to the lake. The paper thin material on the top of the board has a mild abrasion from the strap and it now leaks. The area where the abrasion occurred does not even feel rough. I reached out to ROC . They replied quickly, but stated:
"Thank you for reaching out and passing along the photos, they are helpful to inspect; and we are so sorry that this has happened to your board, it is certainly disappointing to see.
Our Warranty is intended to cover defects or flaws due to manufacturing and workmanship; unfortunately we are not able to cover damage to the board due to normal wear and tear. In this case it does appear that the damage was sustained through the use of the straps you mentioned and not the result of a construction defect. We're sorry to report this as certainly we recognize the frustration it may bring, but we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
We weren't able to ascertain if the abrasion is superficial; is the board leaking air? In this case, a patch kit can be a very good option for a successful repair. We do not carry any specifically, but if you search for a "PVC repair kit for inflatables" and select one with both fabric and glue, you'll find the process is simple and should be a great fix to get you back on the water very soon.
Thank you again for reaching out. We are happy to provide any guidance or clarification during this process, and please do let us know if you have any other questions along the way!"
Even in their email they stated it was a disappointing experience. In an effort to provide even less customer service, they do not even have patch material for their boards that I can buy from them. I guess if you do not have to secure the boards to your car, tie anything to the top of the boards, and never envision a possible repair being required- ROC may be for you....... I would also recommend exfoliating your feet prior to use as rough heels may do irreparable damage to the top of the board. Our friends have Tower boards and they have owned them for two years. They tie them to the car. They drag them behind their boat. No issues. Buy from Tower. Stay clear of ROC.
