Expedition 11'6 Paddle Board Package Description

Thurso Surf Expedition is a Touring inflatable paddle board built for speed. Its streamlined body is precisely contoured to reduce drag, making it easier to cut the water and paddle further. The sharp nose and narrow tail offer extra maneuverability for tight turns and full control. The overall design allows both paddling at speed and carrying supplies for an expedition. Perfect for paddlers who like to paddle fast and/or go on long/multiday trips.

I love this board. I have the Expedition and the Water Walker. For the record, I LOVE them both. I do not have any problem with the stability of this board but this board is not as stable as the Water Walker. To illustrate the difference in stability in the two boards - I can do a little jump on the top of the Water Walker and land but I have not tried that on the Expedition. I have not done any yoga on it- I do that on the Water Walker. . I did have the Expedition out in some white caps on the Barnegat Bay (NJ) just to see if I could stand on it in the chop and I did fine. (For the record, I snowboard and have good balance.) I feel the Expedition is a bit faster for the same amount of effort. If you are looking to do some serious distance and don't mind a learning curve when getting use to balancing on it….then this may be your board. Whatever board you go with, I strongly suggest getting the kayak seat and extra oar to convert the paddle. It is nice to change muscle usage and great for heavy winds to be able to kayak instead of stand up. Comparing both boards to my Crosier SUP (hard board)- I would happily ride any of them. Inflatables are the way to do if you can not get a hard board on your roof or if you want to bring your board on vacation (flying). The backpacks that the come with are very nice quality. I wish they were slightly wider as these boards are heavy duty and hard to roll up. Get extra strapping to secure them once ruled up. The single action pump was fantastic. The paddles are fantastic! I like all the ties downs on both boards.
