We used this board to train Special Olympians how to paddle board and even though it is a huge board the athletes were able to maneuver it easily and we didn't have to worry about the weight of each athlete. Pros Loved the handle cut out and how it handles a lot of weight. It was easy for beginners with disabilities to stand on their 1st day out. Cons Wish it was shorter to make transportation easier. Great durable, stable, family board. This is a good entry level board that is stable on the flat, but also can surf small waves. It can take a lot of abuse from hitting it with a paddle or landing on a beach. It is a little on the heavy side to carry but it is not affected by that so much in the water Pros Good durable board for starting Cons A little heavy, Usage All types of water conditions, learning to surf

This is my first Summer and now Fall on the Bic Dura Tec 11’4 and I absolutely love it! The stability allows me to easily have my eleven and fourteen year old son and daughter use it and it is perfect for family outings at our local lake here in New Mexico. Pros The stability and ease of use in addition to the durability make this such a long term board, it’s a keeper! Cons The board can be heavy and I must make sure we park at a reasonable distance to the lake for launching. Usage I typically use it three times a week for two to four hours of exercising including yoga (I’m forever looking for the perfect paddle stroke). I also like to swim in the lake with the board attached to me by the leash for a different type of workout. Recently, I’ve been fishing from the SUP and with great success. I also like to pack lunch and beverage in my Camel Back and find a nice little hike to take a break from paddling.

I used the Bic SUP DURA-TEC 11'4 for the first time three days ago and have been on the board everyday since! For the last ten years, I have been unable to enjoy any sport activities due to a chronic pain disorder known as fybromyalgia, as well as a bone condition in my hip. However, I discovered that unlike other sports, stand-up paddleboarding does not cause me any additional pain. I am now looking to buy my own Bic SUP! Pros This board is perfect for beginners because it is wide, thick and very durable. Cons It is a bit heavy, but easy to carry with a shoulder strap. Usage I mainly use the board for exercise and touring.

The DURA-TEC 11'4" by BIC is a solid board. I have surfed and kayaked for around 12 years and have also done some SUP surfing and paddling. I have rented this board in both situations and have been pretty pleased with it. Pros The board is sturdy and pretty solid. It isn't wobbly so you can easily balance on it. Because of this it is easy to climb back onto and easy to catch even the smallest wave with. It can take some wear and tear. Cons It is a bit of a big board. Because of this, it is harder for smaller individuals to carry around or maneuver. If you have some size and are used to paddling then its fine. Usage Surfing and paddling.

I have used the Bic Dura-Tec board several times as a rental. Dura-Tec boards seem quite common for board rental shops. It is obviously due to the fact that the board can take a beating from anyone. Super solid and built tough. This board is wide and long and crazy stable. I have seen many paddlers who have never paddled before hop right on and take off with no problem. It is big and heavy so it does not glide well. You will get quite a work out paddling this beast around. Pros Super stable, super tough. No need to worry about dings or dents. Cons HEAVY. It is a big board that takes some power to get around. Usage Exercise and touring

The Bic Duratec is a tank of a board. If you are rough on your stuff, this is your board. You can run the board into rocks, docks, and everything else in between. The board will live to paddle another day! Can't say that about 99% of the other boards out there. It paddles great, is it a race board, nope. But, I can keep up in group paddles. The negatives, it's heavy. Pulling this off your car and out of the water is going to take a little more effort than an epoxy board. But it is doable, not as heavy as the rotomolded boards that are 100% plastic. This board is a staple in the rental/lesson market. This makes it a common board, but bit also speaks to it's durability and stability. Overall, this is a great board if you abuse your gear, have kids, or want a board that is going to last a long time. This is the board I would buy for my teenager who breaks everything he owns. He won't break this. But I might need to keep extra paddles on hand. But I know this board will be OK. Pros Durable, a great family board! At 11'4" and 32" wide this board is stable. The material, Dura-tec, is very durable as the name implies (but not indestructible). A great family board. Pros Cost, Durability, Stability Cons Heavy, Foot padding is a little harsh, the "bumper" or "edge guard" makes the board look cheap Usage Family fun, touring, surfing
