East Coast Paddle (ECP) is based out of New Smyrna Beach, FL. They are a total local/groundroots/pass the stoke operation. Aside their boards, they offer eco tours, lessons, etc.. I bought the 11' Hybrid board for my wife. It weights 26lbs, tracks really nice in both flat and choppy water, craftsmanship is second to none. The Hybrid blends the best of their cruiser model and surf inspired models....She is very responsive. My wife and I are newbies to SUP and she absolutely loves the board.
Pros
If I was more experienced, I could evaluate how it perfumes on surf...haven't had it out in ocean yet. In our local lake in Dade City, FL, the board is fantastic. Glides really nice, even in choppy water. Beautiful shape, craftsmanship, light. ECP can custom your board with a number of options, graphics, etc.. They can even make any of their models to your specs i.e.: length and width. Tim is a great guy, knows his stuff and can give recommendations. I like to support local shapers, and businesses that work the way ECP does.
Cons
At 200lbs, the board doesn't track as straight with me as it does with my wife. I'm sure it's my stroke technique. The board is just more responsive and faster than a standard 11' cruiser...which I like. This is very minor, and I use it as a challenge to improve my stroke and balance.
Usage
Flat water paddling for exercise and fun. It's built for both cruising and surf but, it's stable enough to take fishing/touring.
