Yelvik's Beach to Pulali Point

Trip Overview

Nice little day trip from Yelvik's Beach around Pulali Point. Tons of bald eagles and a couple seals (I know, got too close to one -- drifted to shore while fooling with the zoom on my lousy iPhone waterproof set-up). Explored the Camp Parsons shoreline on the way back. This area is great if you are a beginner and want to explore rocky shoreline reminiscent of the San Juans. I would say it is a lot safer (which it is) but don't take that to mean that conditions can't turn brutal just like any other body of saltwater in the Salish Sea.. In summer, the water does get warm enough to swim in and even better with light neoprene (Hydroskin or something like that) if you take a dip. The wind was coming in from the north and so put-in was idea at Yelvik's Beach. Day use fee is $5 which you can pay at the General Store, Kayak Brinnon, or (if no one is there) by slipping a $5 bill under the door with your license plate written down. Once around Wa Wa Point, and again around Pulali Point, we were exposed to wind and waves, but not too bad. Hope you enjoy the video.
