Trip Overview

We put in at the Main Street Bridge landing in Grenada, MS. Our take out point was highway 8 landing in Holcomb, MS. Total paddle distance was 16.8 miles and took about 5 1/2 hrs.

River was quite low in spots and had many down trees (the reason for moderate). Nothing too difficult. Only had one stretch where we had to portage across a large sand bar where a major stream met the river.

Very quiet paddle through mostly wooded areas. We did not see a single person on our trip. Lots of fish and birds.

Fees:

None

Directions:

Main Street in Grenada just north of the square is a ramp for the river. Highway 8 in heading out of Holcomb there is another ramp for the river.
