Trip Overview

This was a 3 hour explore of Yabba Ck organised through Ian at Ride on Mary. We paddled up the creek first and then returned down the creek to the Imbil-Kadanga Rd Bridge. There's lots of wildlife including more birds than I could count - different cockatoos, rainbow bee-eaters, azure kingfishers, wrens, rufus wagtails, and lots lots more, snakes, water dragons, mayflies and dragonflies. Simply a beautiful paddle. Ian gave us a very through briefing on the current conditions on the creek and what to expect.

Safety Notes

Check the water levels and water releases from Borumba dam as parts of the creek are only navigable when water levels are adequate.

Portage Notes

a very shallow race just before the bend into the long straight to the bridge at the end. a couple of areas where the creek narrowed on the way up the creek where the current was a little too strong for us newbies but probably wouldn't be a problem from experienced paddlers.
