Trip Overview
Put in on a warm Sunday afternoon in early may, the lady friend, the lady child of fifteen, and myself. Found a nice low key spot on the northeast portion of the lake in which to slide the canoe.
The lake was smattered with a few other paddlers and the occasional motor boat, and then there was the low din of I-75 as we approached the north end of the lake, but generally it was quiet.
Enjoyed seeing a few birds, including a couple ducks and a green heron. Azaleas and other spring flowers dotted the shore. There appear to be significantly more houses near the lake than last I was here about 12 years ago. Substantial logging has taken place in the vicinity of the lake in the recent past. Water level and quality appear good.
