Trip Overview

I started from Parkwood Beach in Wareham. Crossed the Wareham river channel to Hamilton Beach and followed shore line past Swift Neck and Swifts beach then crossed Mark's cove. At Cromeset Pt. I entered the mouth of the Weweantic. I was going at the end of an out going tide with a headwind on the Wareham river.

Entering the Weweantic the wind was from the left side and the tide was going out. Passed under Route 6 things started getting easier. By the time I made the I-195 boat ramp it was easy paddling to Horseshoe Pond dam. I had lunch and enjoyed the view then returned.

At the Wareham river I caught an in coming tide and tailwind for an easy trip home.

NOTE: There was a 12 to 14 knot wind that blows straight up the Wareham river so there is alot of chop. Watch for boat traffic also.

Fees:

May be fees for the boat ramp contact town of Wareham.

Directions:

Parkwood is a private community but you can launch from the boat ramp off of Oak street. Follow Main street to Minot Ave to Oak St.
