Trip Overview

We entered @ Tremont Mill Pond Damn in West Wareham at 2:30 in the afternoon, headed across pond under main street thru a culvert pipe (1 foot head clearance), then across the main pond and under route 28 (water was high, had to "creek the neck and use hands underside of bridge to get thru) at Five Corners, another 1/4 mile then under route 495, a quick/sharp left then into God's country.

Maybe a half mile upstream there is another small dam that required portage. We paddled through brush, limbs, early march bug swarms, for another hour. Many beautiful wetland forestry, bogs all along the way. Our path was finally blocked somewhere in South Carver according to my American Map, Cape Cod, 5th ed.

Our return voyage was a drift (kinda like a leaf on top of the water) with minor paddling and steering. Shot the litle dam in Carver (no portage, yeah!) NIRVANA. The entire trip was completed in 3 hours with only minor upstream paddling. Go for it!
