Wenas Lake in Washington

Trip Overview

This is a small lake located approx. 18 miles NW of Yakima and I paddled around it in the early morning to escape the winds that can develop later in the day. It has a small creek flowing in from the north that can be explored for a couple hundred yards. Not an idyllic site as it is a desert area but quiet and unused except by fishermen. Not a destination site for a long drive but if someone is in the area and has time to spare.

Accommodations:

Boat launch, outdoor toilets.

Directions:

Take the North Wenas road out of Selah and stay on it until you arrive at the lake.
