Located on the eastern outskirts of Prescott, Watson Lake is one of five area lakes.
Watson Lake is remarkable and unique in that it is located right in the middle of Prescott's magnificent Granite Dells, a granite-spired wonderland of crags, crevices and spectacular views. Regularly featured on magazine covers nationally, Watson Lake is a day paddlers paradise: easy access, protected waters, interesting and varied shoreline, plenty of wildlife potential.
The Southern end of the lake is part of the Watson Wood Riparian Preserve, home to a diverse bird population including Bald Eagles, Zone-tail Hawks and Great Blue Herons. The rest of the lake is located in the City of Prescott Watson Lake Park.
Many picnic tables and associated shelters, a large play field, two boat ramps (through the entire lake is a "No Wake" zone), ample parking, many short hikes. Restrooms at the south ramp which are handicap accessible.
$2 day parking fee - ride your bike or walk in for free.
It is located just off of highway 89 (the main route from Prescott to Chino Valley and Ashfork)
