Trip Overview

We entered the river at the Bassett's Bridge put in. The river flows north but we decided to try it South. We headed downriver for about a half hour.

An extremely beautiful river from what we saw on this, our first trip on these waters. Much wildlife was abundant. We saw deer, egrets, a variety of birds and amphibians. The boats we used were a Walden Sports Experience and an Ocean Kayak Big Yak. Looking foward to doing the whole river as we can.

The next trip will be from Basset's to the Oil City Road put in. I'm told that trip takes about an hour. Paddling against the current is no prob at all. You have to carry in the boats approx 1/10th of a mile from the Bassett's Bridge put in, I think the wheeled kayak carriers would be very helpful.

Bring a lot of bug spray! We had lot's of bites!

Accommodations:

Nothin but woods. Have to carry the boats about 1/10th of a mile from the Bassett's put in. The wheeled carriers would be helpful. Also, bring a lot of bug spray!!
