Trip Overview

My son and I are both novice kayakers. The trip was 5.9 miles and took us one hour and 55 minutes of easy paddling. We were able to avoid the few filters along that part of the river.

Water level: closest gauge was Longs (LNGS1) 4.05 (Normal)

Put In:
Wortham's Landing at the end of Grainger Rd.

Mostly quiet paddling on the lazy and winding Waccamaw river.

In addition to the normal birds, fish, and bugs you can expect to encounter, we saw two pair of wild turkeys on the river bank and a pack of wild hogs swimming across the river.
