Upper Duck River

Trip Overview

A beautiful paddle on the upper Duck River. Put in at the Dement Bridge boat ramp and paddled about 10 miles to the Mullins boat ramp at the Hwy 41A bridge.

The water was up and flowing nicely- most of the rapids were under water. We struck a couple gravel bars during the leisurely 3 hour paddle but never had to get out and pull. There were enough riffles and swift flowing channels to make it fun without it being too scary for the newbie we had along.

Saw some Cliff Sparrows, an Osprey, and Kingfishers, among others.

All in all a beautiful half day on a beautiful river.
