I paddled this section on 7/24/19 and had a fantastic trip. Very clear water, nice current, and no obstructions. I started at South Carvers Rd, The trips stars in a very pretty wooded section with a nice rock outcropping and very little development. One of the highlights of the trip is the Tiffany Stone Arch Bridge. Built in 1869 it is one of the few 5 arch stone bridges in the world and the oldest stone arch bridge in Wisconsin. Additionally this is a great trip for doing a bike shuttle as there is a nice flat country road (East Creek Road) that runs right along the river the whole way. The paddle and shuttle are each about 6 miles. The paddle took me just under 2 hours and the shuttle was about 20 mins. There is a small friendly bar, The Shopiere Tap, right across the street from the take out.that has good food and beer For a more in depth write up on this trip (and 59 more!) see Timothy Bauer's book "60 paddling Adventures within 60 miles of Madison"
