Trip Overview

This was a nice spot to paddle. The river is calm, but there are a lot of snags to watch out for. If you go up river there is a drop of about two feet. There is a nice gap if you are coming down river to help negotiate, but no easy way past it going up.

We had the river to ourselves and saw a deer swimming in the river, and a Crane followed us down river for awhile. The water was very calm and easy to paddle, but there were lots of down trees and a number of snags to work your way through.

There is a great boat ramp and lots of parking at Rood Bridge Park. There is a small area to get in and out, but it's a bit steep and a little slippery.
