Tualatin River in Oregon

Trip Overview

The Tualatin River has its headwaters in Oregon's north Coast Range and flows through Washington County, one of Oregon's fastest growing and most populated counties.

Safe put-ins and take-outs are in Hillsboro, Tigard, Tualatin and Lake Oswego. Its confluence with the Willamette River is in old West Linn, about a mile upstream from the Oregon City/Willamette Falls. The park at the mouth of the river has an excellent launch area, however, a rock garden in the first mile of the Tualatin makes an upstream trip impossible even for the hardiest of paddlers.
