TriRiver to Skull Rock Lock

Trip Overview

Put in at TriRiver portage to Blackstone. Beautiful scenery all the way to Stanley Woolen Mill. Swift water, not too high, made for fun rapids. From Stanley Woolen however to Skull Rock multiple trees down creating a very difficult paddle not for beginners. Many strainers and sweepers. Pull out at Skull Rock is extremely steep.

Safety Notes

Many straight and sweepers from after breached dam to lock. Many impassable trees down requiring hauling.

Conditions

Low water in October creating a low current

Portage Notes

Breached dam you must either run or portage over in high water beware of walking over that feet don't become stuck in rocks.
