Trinity River Challenge XXI

A self-supported trip created by Paddlinpals

Trip Overview

The Trinity River Challenge is an paddle sport race held every September to raise money for the river related causes that the DDRC supports. The race course is a stretch of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River between Carrollton and Lewisville, Texas.

The Recreation race will be 6 miles. Starting at McInnish Park, continuing 3 miles up river to the IH 35 Bridge and back to McInnish Park.

The 12 Mile race will be starting at McInnish Park, continuing 6 miles up river to the Hebron Parkway Canoe launch and back to McInnish Park.

The race is run as an up and back race starting and finishing at McInnish Park. This eliminates the need for shuttling

The race has grown in popularity and participation over the last few years and now has participation of up to 150 paddlers each year.

For their entry fee and participation, the racers receive a Trinity River Challenge T-shirt and a lunch. Extra Tees and Lunches can be ordered in the DDRC store for pick up on Race Day until registration closes.

Racers compete in a wide range of boat classes in Solo Canoe, Kayak, Tandem Canoe and Kayak Divisions out for a day of fun on the river Special awards are also given for the fastest times by age groups and the overall fastest time.

Not a racer? Fear not, as the TRC needs more than a few good volunteers to help with all sorts of things on Race Day. Volunteers get a free tee shirt and lunch, what a deal! Sign up to volunteer on the race entry page when registration opens.
