I've done this lake before, which is nested right in Lake Elmo Regional Park, so totally natural and quite serene. However, in July 2023, it is entirely full of weeds up to the surface, which makes paddling not as enjoyable. I believe it's most likely from the low water levels.
Note: the walk to the water from the parking lot is not short; a few hundred feet, and the launch is quite mucky, so water shoes are nice.
