Rented a canoe from Rising Sun campground in Monterey, Indiana, and we camped at Tippanoe River State Park in one of the cabins, which I highly recommend.
We did this trip twice, once in Sept 2020 but the river was very low and we scraped a ton, so we tried again in June 2021 and the water was much higher and we had an amazing trip.
The rental canoes are fine, but a little small so after 13 miles it gets a little uncomfortable. But the scenery is very rural and for a Monday we didn't see anyone else at all the entire time.
The rental people drive a bus to the put-in then you take out at their campground and pick up your vehicle.
