Trip Overview

My wife and I took a 14' canoe from The Redneck Yacht Club down the Terrapin on July 9th. The water was down about a foot but the 7-mile trip was worth it.

One spot to watch out for is just after the Hwy 9 bridge crosses the creek there is a rapid that is best to stay to the right to go through. The creek has several great swimming spots.

It took us about 4hrs to go the 7 miles.

Accommodations:

Rest rooms, rentals, refreshments, shuttle service.

Outfitting:

The Red Neck Yacht Club is a great place to put in, it only cost $5.00 per boat and they also shuttle you back to your truck, or car, they also have rentals.

Directions:

From Piedmont: Hwy 9 north toward Center and turn right on county rd. 175, go about a mile on the left, 175 turns right and a dirt rd. goes straight, go straight and take the first left.
