Trip Overview
Free parking, and 2min walk to the water. You can go left which will take you upstream, with a small set of shallows to wade though. Following that you'll pass under a bridge (New Road) and come to a weir. The water is pretty deep here, so make sure you get right upto the weir before getting off to climb it. Following that theres a good kilometre or two of flat river, until you reach a set of reeds. You can get through the reeds, and you'll find another weir. Did 8KM round trip from here, and it was lovely.
Safety Notes
Many swans, had one hiss rather enthusiastically but didn't give chase.
Conditions
Was a super hot day, with little wind. The River is fairly sheltered in places so with a light breeze still reasonably easy to traverse.
Portage Notes
There were only really 4 places to get on and off, though all easily accessible, gentle sloping banks.
