6-week odyssey down the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers from our home in WI to New Orleans with my 15-year-old son. Paddled everyday, camped every night: 25 locks/dams, 2000+ miles, great weather/terrible weather, wind, heat, rain, relentless sun, awesome river angels, clueless rec motor boaters, peaceful days of solitude, nerve wracking days of commercial river traffic, close calls with huge tows and salties, kind souls and friendly folks. We experienced the gamut. Incredible trip all in all. Highly recommended for adventurous types not deterred by hardship and challenge.
