Trip Overview

Squantz Pond State Park is nice paddle location for a 1/2 day or longer paddle. Although it can be quite noisy by the State park and you may encounter powerboats or JetSki's. One side of the large pond is populated with homes and the other side is virgin forest. On a scale of 1-5 I would rate this place 2.5.

Fees:

$9-14 entry fee

Directions:

From the New York area: take I-684 onto I-84 east toward Danbury. Take Exit 5 and go left at the traffic light onto Route 39 north, following the signs to Squantz Pond. The park is located off Route 39 approximately 4 miles north of the center of New Fairfield, CT.
