Easy paddle, great location for beginner. Hardly anyone around during late afternoon on a holiday weekend and a 100F+ day. Only my second trip out with my overeager Labrador. Park staff did not seem to mind that my dog was swimming off leash most of the time. Kayak and SUP available for rental next to boat ramp.
$7 fee at entrance. Make sure to enter park from Montgomery Dr. (boat ramp not accessible from other entrances).
Conditions
Late summer: lots of algae growth, visible from surface.
Portage Notes
easy walk to boat ramp from parking lot. Plenty of space to inflate SUP.
