Trip OverviewSparks Lake near Bend, Oregon in the high dessert area of the state is fantastic. The whole time you are in view of the South Sister a 10,000 ft mountain that looks down on Sparks Lake. This was Ray Atkeson favorite lake to photograph. It is quite shallow and warms up in the summer. It is a very fun paddle that is about 2-1/2 miles long with coves and places to go ashore. If you tip over it is only about 4 or 5 ft deep (yippee!!!!) and warm.

Fees:Northwest pass permits of $5.00
Directions:From Portland, Oregon, go out hwy 26 to Bend. Take the Cascades Lakes hwy. Just past Mt Bachelor you will see a turn off to the lake.
