Put in just downstream of YMCA Camp Carr on Hamden Rd. There is a small lot (no overnight) just off the road, and a good launch site beneath the Hamden/River Rd bridge. USGS website reported 2.59ft at the gauge at Stanton Station Rd. This was a good level, yet shallow in a few spots where the river gets wide or splits around little islands. At this depth, you need to pay attention to the channel in places to avoid running aground in the riffles. I took out at Stanton Station Rd which is a little over 3 miles from the start. There is an easy takeout on the right beneath the bridge and abundant public parking. It took me about one and a quarter hours. Good for a quick and easy trip. The scenery was beautiful, and the water was clean and clear.
