Trip Overview
Enjoy a long weekend spent at the owner's home on 40 acres of hardwoods along the beautiful Betsie River. This retreat will give you enough time to explore a number of the better local paddling opportunities. Each trip is a bit different and built around your interests and goals with built in flexibility. You will mix and match some open water paddling along the bluffs and dunes with some of the finest river paddling to be found in the area. Eagles, Osprey, mink, trout and bass are all resident members of the local wildlife population that you get to share your trip with. You can also see incredible dune faces and possibly even some shipwrecks that can be seen from kayaks on calm days.
You will stay in a comfortable family home base for small groups of paddlers wanting to explore the area. Uncommon Adventures will only take up to 6 for each workshop with menus planned around your tastes. Paddling destinations are flexible and built around what you'd like to learn and see and whatever the weather is like and may include Lake Michigan, various bays and inland lakes and the Betsie River.
Note: Although you will spend a little time on basic strokes instruction on this weekend, you may want to look to the Learn-to-Kayak B&B weekend if you are seeking a more instructional experience or, better yet, do both!
