Trip Overview

After having read a previous report about this reservoir, my son and I gave it a try and had a wonderful time.

The other report said that there was garbage around; except for quite a pile of empty beer cans on an island (and evidence of the destruction of a swan's nest there), we saw no other garbage.

My son is 11 years old, and had great fun paddling through the viaduct under the road. Put-in was easy at the ramp. We saw no other paddlers, although intermittently there were a few fishermen on shore. A road skirts the reservoir, but traffic noise was not too intrusive for us to enjoy ourselves.

The only difficulty was in locating the site, as there aren't many signs; if you enter "Scoville Road, Wolcott" on a GPS and then follow the dirt road all the way to the end, there's parking and the ramp.

Accommodations:

None that I saw...

Directions:

Follow Scoville Road in Wolcott all the way to the end, where there's a parking area and ramp.
