Trip Overview

Update to Previous Report on Rocky Gorge

WSSC Rocky Gorge had a delayed opening due to presence of ice in coves (preventing any rescue). I just checked back in today (3/21/07) and both Rocky Gorge and Triadelphia are now open. HOWEVER, 3 landings are closed:
RG: Brown's Bridge Landing (Ednor Rd.)
TRI: Pig Tail Landing and Big Branch Landings.

You can pick up daily or season passes at the Brighton Dam Field Office: $3 for day, $30 for season.

The phone number to the office is 301 774 9124

Directions:

The Reservoir can be accessed by taking RT 29 North from the Washington D.C. Beltway. Follow out past RT 198, make right on Columbia Road (by Golf Driving Range). Follow road around until the road will dip and you can see the launch ramp on your right. If you miss it, you can park or turnaround a short distance from the ramp.
