Puget Sound off Marrowstone Island, Washington

A self-supported trip created by Pertribe135

Trip Overview

Launched at East Beach County Park on Marrowstone Island and paddled south on the incoming tide change. Stayed along the shore until Craven Rock where the Sea Lions hang out. Paddled out into the water to observe but keep from disturbing them, amazed at the size of them. Also saw a couple pair of Rhinoceros Auklets and some Brants flying by. A huge sailboat passed by us headed down Puget Sound. A little choppy but that’s normal for this location.

Safety Notes

This water is around 50 degrees in the spring, we wear drysuits till summer then switch to wetsuits. Check the wind and tide charts.
