Trip Overview

Priest Lake is one of the stunningly beautiful North Idaho lakes. There are actually two lakes Priest and Upper Priest they are separated by whats called the thorofare; a mile and a half or so of river like calm water.

To powerboaters this area is a no wake zone, the wildlife watching opportunities are amazing I was within 10 yards or less of two cow moose and an American bald eagle. Many other species of birds I don't know the names of. Camping is allowed all over the Upper lake as the property surrounding is all public. There are no Cabins or lakefront homes.

Accommodations:

There are quite a few resorts around the Lower lake. Camping only with no facilities on the Upper

Outfitting:

Necky 17 / Old Town adventure 13.9

Fees:

None I'm aware of

Directions:

North on Hwy 57 out of the town of Priest River to Beaver Creek campground approx 45 miles.
