Portland on the Rideau

A self-supported trip created by Adventure-Agent

Trip Overview

This is not a place for short, 8 to 10 foot kayaks. We paddled most of the day, encountering interesting people and some birdlife. Remarkably calm for this large lake and season. We were two kayaks, both well experienced. This location is easy access from highway 15, being right on the edge of it. The Portland Bay Conservation Area has outhouses, but may be a bit messy. Take hand sterilizer. Good place to start or join the Rideau Canal paddle trail.
