Trip Overview

What a gorgeous day, 67 degrees, sunny...my partner and I left about noon from just north of the ferry terminal and headed north around point to Ft. Worden. Saw numerous sea birds. Heading north was a slight challenge due to wind. Swells of 2-3 feet, but were rolling easily, not choppy. We are novices just starting but really enjoyed trip. On return had a seal follow us, curiosity-was really cool to watch. And the wind behind us made our return a "breeze". Can't wait to do it again and make a day of it!

Accommodations:

Numerous hotels, B&B's, camping in surrounding areas. Ft. Worden, Fort Flagler, etc,. I think Ft. Flagler is part of WA water trail. Lots of "home town" eateries and shopping if you like.

Fees:

Camping requires fees.

Directions:

Hwy 101 North or South, Take Pt. Townsend/Chimacum exit Route 20 and follow signs. Easy to find. Northeast corner of Olympic Peninsula.
