Trip Overview

Dropping in the Pemi from the town of Plymouth NH, we took a 6 mile paddle down river to where Squam Lake empties into the Pemi. This is very flat water section - almost like paddling on a lake. This section is almost entirely sandy bottom with clear water that makes it easy to see anything and everything in the water.

The river slowly winds back and forth. There are many sandy beaches to stop on for a break or picnic lunch. We saw an Osprey and its nest but not much other wildlife. Overall a relaxing paddle with nice views.
