Pecatonica River in Illinois

Trip Overview

This is 'Illinois Friendliest Paddle'
Pecatonica River - McConnell Bobtown Landing to McNeil's Damascus Landing

There is a floating boat dock with kayak EZ dock at both Landings.

It is an easy 7.9 mile paddling trip. It is a very peaceful, quiet, rural, country setting.

It normally takes about 3 hours to paddle this trail. There are NO sandbars along this trail that could be used for a lunch break. The river banks are mud. There will be occasional brush piles to paddle around or maybe a log jam to be portaged around.

Both locations have port-a-potties, picnic tables with charcoal grills, universal access fishing piers, kiosks with brochures, and off-road gravel parking lot.

Just a Illinois Water Usage Stamp. Info at:

The put-in is McConnell Bobtown Landing located 1/4 mile west of McConnell, IL on West McConnell Road.

The take-out at McNeil's Damascus Landing is about 5 miles east of Lena, or 3 miles west of Cedarville on West Cedarville Road.
