Trip Overview

A friend and I took my canoe and put in under the bridge at exit 3 off I-59 just north of Slidell. The river was at flood stage so the water was high with some current. It was a great trip. We encountered no problems along the way.

The trip was about 18 miles according to my GPS but that included all the off shoots we took along the way. It took about five hours for our trip down to highway 90. This was taking our time and stopping frequently for pictures of all the wildlife and there was plenty of wildlife.

Directions:

I put in at exit 3 off I 59 under the bridge.
I took out under the bridge on Highway 90.
Good parking at both places.

Resources:

A GPS is recommended to stay the the right channel. There are many off shoots.
