Trip Overview
Nice easy out and back paddle from the Essex County Environmental Center upstream to the Route 10/Mount Pleasant Avenue Bridge. 2.7 miles one way.
The Essex County Environmental Center offers a nice put in point with parking, portapotties, nice gardens and a nice gravel launch area.
We did not encounter any significant snags going upriver. Not much current in most spots either.
Great Blue Herrons, Green Herrons, King Fishers, Red Tail Hawk, Great Egrets, Musk Turtles, Sliders.
