A 2-Day 21-Mile Canoe/Kayak/Paddleboard camping adventure on the blackwater Satilla River April 3-5. Spring on the Satilla is highlighted by two-nights of on-river camping, with catered meals, campsites with showers and restrooms, educational programs and two beautiful days of paddling.
The Satilla River is a flatwater river with no major hazards. The second day of the journey may involve some paddling against an incoming tide (depending on launch times and tides). A sweep boat and lead boat as well as additional safety boats and land-based staff ensure as safe a trip as possible.
All person-powered vessels are welcomed.
Spring temperatures generally prevail. Average highs are in the 70s; average nightly lows are in the 50s. The area receives about 3 inches of rain during the month of April.
