Paddle and Hike

Trip Overview

The Complete Pictured Rocks Experience covers a distance in the water of roughly 11 miles of paddling along Pictured Rocks + 3 mile hike along the chapel river trail. The trip normally stops at the Mosquito River. You’ll see Spray Falls, Battleship Row, the Grand Portal Arch, Chapel Rock, the Cave of the Bloody Chiefs, Indian Head Rock, Lovers Leap Arch, Mosquito River, the colored cliffs 200 foot cliffs, sea caves and Miners Castle. Expect to be on the water about 6 hours which is about the same timeline as Paddling Michigan's regular day trip but you’ll see many more features and formations of this shoreline that due to the distance make it impossible to see on the regular out and back paddling trip. Hike is from Chapel Beach to the Trailhead where the van will shuttle you back to your vehicle.
