Overton Arm of Lake Mead

Trip Overview

Launched from Echo Bay in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Headed south but not far enough to find the channel to the lower lake past Bighorn Island. So we padddled across the lake and north along the eastern shore to explore Cottonwood Cove and Preacher Cove then back over to Echo Bay. Some fantastic shapes in the gypsum formations on the shore. Water was like glass in the afternoon of a beautiful warm day.
